Depositing cheques is a snap with Deposit AnywhereTM


    Free, fast and secure!

    Whether you're out for coffee with friends, busy at work, or doing some banking before bed – any time is the right time to deposit cheques with Deposit Anywhere.


    How it works

    It's so easy! Simply:

    • Open our mobile banking app on your smartphone or tablet

    • Choose the Deposit icon

    • Select the account you want the cheque deposited in

    • Enter the amount of the cheque

    • Write "For Deposit To:" and your account number on the back of the cheque

    • Snap a photo of the front and back of your cheque

    • Confirm the details and tap submit. That's it!

    Make sure you keep your paper cheque for at least 90 days in case of need and destroy it within 120

    Your balance will reflect your remote deposit immediately, but a 5-day hold will be placed on funds

    Cheques must be payable in Canadian dollars and drawn at a Canadian financial institution

    Having issues with Deposit Anywhere on Android?

    This is a temporary problem. We are currently working on a more permanent solution. In the meantime, here are some tips for how to resolve the issue. Thank you for your patience! 

    Newer Android phones have a home button that is just on the screen and is not a physical button. The home button overlays right over top of the camera button on deposit anywhere, so when you try to take a picture of a cheque, you end up pressing the home button instead, taking you back to the home screen.

    You can change your phone’s settings to turn off the home button to replace the home, back, and show all buttons with “Gestures”. Gestures is swiping away apps with a touch to minimize them or return home instead of using buttons.

    For Samsung phones:

    • Go to the phone’s settings;

    • Go to Display;

    • Go to Navigation bar;

    • Select Full Screen Gestures.

    • You can now swipe:

      • Up from the bottom of the screen on the left-hand side to go back

      • Middle of the screen to go home

      • Right-hand side of the screen to show all minimized apps.

    For Google Pixel phones:

    • Go to the phone’s settings;

    • Go to System;

    • Go to Gestures;

    • Go to System Navigation;

    • Turn on Gesture Navigation.

    • You can now swipe up to minimize the active app or return to the home screen.

    • Your Deposit Anywhere will work as normal;

    • You will instead need to swipe on your screens instead of using back, home, and show all buttons.
